Does db2 check for file locks when running the db2 import/export command? I have 2 processes, one runs an export to ixf, and another process that imports the ixf. Both run multiple times a day, the export process is variable time and I don't want to import the ixf if it is currently being written to. The following example shows how to import information from myfile.ixf to the STAFF table: db2 import from myfile.ixf of ixf messages msg.txt insert into staff SQL3150N The H record in the PC/IXF file has product 'DB2 01.00', date '19970220', and time '140848'.

I guess there is no direct way for your problem, You can create the tablewith excel like definition on DB2, save your excel as CSV file, importdata using del format to the table. Now as your data is in DB2, you can write SQL's for data movement.HTH,-Akhilesh MittalDBA (DB2 UDB)604-918-7997'vasankcs via db2-l' 09:41 PMMail Size: 5790Please respond [email protected] MITTAL/ITD GLT/HSDI/HSBC@HSBCccSubjectRe: db2-l Importing Excel sheet data in db2 tableOur RefYour RefHi,I don't know the direct method. Hi all,you can import xl sheet data. For that you have to add ','(i mean comma between the columns) for the entire record. Then copy all tonote pad and save it.
Hi.I have installed db2 7.2 on a Win2000 server using the install option'Only one partition, standalone' or something. (the third radiobuttonin the wizard)And after making my db (running my script with the structure) I amready to use the db2move to populate the tables with my exported IXFfiles.I have done this many times before with the same files, but I havereinstalled db2 a number of times. The newly generated database is called ERTKOPI4. I try with thesyntax:'db2move ERTKOPI4 load'OUTPUT:-F:db2exportdb2move ERTKOPI4 load.

It used to work and I can't figure out why! Anyone with some good solutions? Thanks, Svein Are Gronsund. Quote: Miro, we experienced this problem on a DB2 UDB SUN two years ago.
A fix for this came in June last year. In December last year we saw this problem for the first time on DB2 UDB WIN2000. Support told about the 64Bit/32Bit difference between operation systems. What is the mystery behind this? It seems to show up from time to time.Hello Harald,I would be happy to investigate what you are referring to. If you wouldlike email me the PMR numbers that correspond to your statements.Best regards,Lloyd D Budd.
1.Miro from IBM Toronto replied to another post saying that this is a bug andhas been fixed in 7.2 fixpak 5. However, the original poster reported stillhaving the same problem after applying the fixpak. Can someone reconfirm?
